New build released! v0.2 (02/16/24)
how's it goin'
Ok, so there are some very significant changes with this new build of the game, and I apologize for not getting to them sooner because they're kinda basic for a first person shooter. Here's the changelist:
- Upgraded bots from being sucky and sort of aimbotty to providing a fair challenge (most of the time)
- Weapons now use true iron sights and viewmodels don't jitter anymore. However, the viewmodel does cast a shadow
- Supernova now looks finished and has a lift you can take in the central building; also there is a kill volume beneath the map now
- Replaced the song Laborizer with Zero Regency
- Grenades now do damage (even through walls tho)
- Locational damage has been implemented. Aim for the head!
- You can no longer shoot your weapon while directly up against a wall and facing it
- Points are now given out based on locational damage and killchain (25 for bodyshot kill, 35 for headshot kill; x2 points for a 2-4 killchain, x3 points after that)
- Gamemode options have been implemented. You can change the time limit, score limit, number of bots, and player health as of this build
- HUD font was changed
- Game settings like audio and graphics permanently save
- Updated Godot to v4.2.1 and Qodot plugin to 2023.3.2. This means that C# support is no longer required.
This is looking pretty good so far! The next build will have more weapons, a second map, and maybe a shooting range if I really feel like it. Until then, have a nice day!
